A group of investors acquired the Jubaili Hospital in Saida for $5 million. The investors, who purchased the hospital from Dr. Niazi Jubaili, established the Jubaili Hospital Company to manage the investment.

Mohammad Koubar, an engineer and contractor who has developed several residential projects in Saida, is now the hospital’s majority shareholder.

Mohammad El Sahli, Assistant General Manager of the Jubaili Hospital Company, said: “The hospital was facing financial difficulties, which pushed Dr. Jubaili to sell it.”

It will be a general hospital that provides all medical services. The hospital will comprise 120 beds and will create 150 jobs, including full-time physicians.

“The building is too old, so we will be rebuilding the hospital to control infection,” said El Sahli.

Rehabilitation works on the hospital, which will retain its name, have already begun and will be completed in early 2017. The project will be implemented in two phases and include two buildings. The cost of investment in the first building will reach $12 million. The total space of the land plot is 6,000 square meters.

Abdulwahed Chehab consulting engineering office will be conducting the designs and supervising the work.

“The company that will be handling the health management has not yet been selected,” said El Sahli.
