Ghaddar Machinery, a power solutions and generator set manufacturer, will expand its factory in Saida.

Construction works have been launched on the extension, which will be completed in early 2016.

Mohamed Ghaddar, Marketing Manager, said: “This will allow us to meet increasing demand from export markets, especially Africa.”
Investment in the extension is estimated at around $7 million, including the land cost. The expansion will increase the total built-up area of the factory from 50,000 to 67,000 square meters. It will create around 30 additional full time jobs.

The extension will increase the production capacity by 30 percent, to 13,000 generators, per year.

Ghaddar exports generators to Arab countries, as well as Africa, and South America.

Ghaddar Machinery is an agent for Perkins engines and Leroy Somer alternators.
