GLC said that increasing the VAT from ten to 15 percent would diminish the purchasing power of citizens, which will “lead an increase in the number of people living below the poverty line.”
The GLC said the 2010-budget proposal proves that the government is adopting the same unjust tax policies as the previous cabinets. "The government has to impose new taxation policies that don’t affect the poor and middle class people," GLC said.
