Construction works will start on Ikhlas Hospital in Barja, Chouf, within a few weeks. The hospital will provide all medical services, including surgeries.

Majed Terro, owner, said: “There are no hospitals in Barja and its surroundings, indicating a great need for it in this region.” He said that demand for a hospital came from local physicians.

Terro has already obtained a license from the Ministry of Public Health to establish the hospital. Construction is expected to be completed in 2018.

Around $5 million will be invested to build the hospital. It will have a total built-up area of 6,000 square meters. It will be composed of six floors, including 77 beds, emergency and operation rooms as well as an intensive care area.

Terro said he will not run the hospital himself, but that a group of physicians will manage it.
