Aishti Foundation
to open in October
Seven floors dedicated to art and retail

Aishti announced last week, at the Grand Palais in Paris, the opening of its foundation on October 26, in Jal el Dib.

The $100 million project will consist of 18,000 square meters of retail and recreational spaces, including shopping, restaurants, and a swimming pool. It will also have a 4,500 m2 gallery of contemporary artwork.

The building’s total gross area will be 28,000 m2, with an additional 3,800 m2 at roof level. The building will also have two basement floors, and five upper levels.

The art collection will consist of 1,200 works of painting, sculpture, drawing, video and new media by 150 artists. Many works on display will feature the first ten years of the 21st century. The curators of the exhibition are Massimiliano Gioni and Cecilia Alemani.

Adjaye Associates were the architects on the project. Hayek Engineering and Consultants were responsible for the structural engineering. Abouchhedid Consultants were the electrical engineers and Tehini Consultants, the mechanical engineers.

Aishti was founded in 1989, by business entrepreneur Tony Salamé. Its fashion labels include Zegna, Gucci, Diesel, Prada, Miu Miu, YSL, Dolce&Gabbana, Dior, Roberto Cavalli, Marc Jacobs, Burberry, and others.
