Sports complex by Carlos Slim in Hammana

The Carlos Slim Sports Complex was inaugurated yesterday in Hammana.

The 20,000 square meter complex consists of two mini soccer fields, a tennis court, and a basketball/volleyball court, according to Hammana Mayor, George Chahine.

Slim donated $1.3 million and Claude Zoghzoghy, previous owner of the Sohat plant, donated $125,000 for the construction of a semi-Olympic pool at the premises. The contractor, Elie Slaiby donated $100,000 in equipment for the complex.

“The complex includes an auditorium, a coffee shop, changing rooms, and offices for employees,” said Chahine.
