‘Rouyati Charity Lebanon Rest Home’, a project by the Rouyati Charity Foundation, is looking for funders and investors to kick-off its homeless shelter.

According to Rewa Younes, President of the Foundation, Advocate at Canon Law, and a Counselor in Marital and Family Matters, the first center requires no less than $4 million to be completed.

The project consists of a center that accommodates the homeless, elderly, infirm, orphans, abused women and their children, and whoever needs a shelter.

The Rest Home Center Project will be constructed on a 2,000 square meter plot in Tall Dnoub, in western Bekaa. The center will consist of four floors with a total area of 2,100 m2. It will include an underground floor dedicated to parking spaces. The first floor will include the main entrance, a dispensary, six large workshops, arts and crafts, a sports hall, a kitchen, dining room, and a multi-purpose hall. The first floor will host the administration offices, a reception hall and lobby, and 16 bedrooms of various sizes. The second floor will include a chapel, a Moussalla, a reception hall, a conference room, and an additional 16 bedrooms. According to Younes the center could accommodate up to 200 homeless individuals. “Our foundation helps no less than 600 per month,” she said.

The West Bekaa shelter will be the first of seven other centers planned for various regions.
