Hawa Chicken, a poultry production company, will open a factory for fodder in Anfeh-Chekka in 2017.
Investment in the project is estimated at $20 million. The fodder factory will be fully automated, including laboratories for testing the whole production process.
The facility spans an area of over 3,000 square meters. The production capacity will reach 75 tons of fodder, per hour.
Jean Hawa, General Manager of the fodder factory, said that the entire production will be dedicated for Hawa’s poultry production. “We don’t have plans to provide local famers with fodder for the time being,” he said.
Hawa Chicken operates its own farms, but it has also signed contracts with private growers to purchase additional poultry to reach 550,000 heads weekly.
The fodder facility is part of Hawa Chicken’s plan to build a 36,000 m2 slaughterhouse in Chekka. The slaughterhouse is expected to double the production capacity to 120,000 chickens, per day.
