Master Chips, a manufacturer of potato chips, will open a new factory in Ferzol, Bekaa, in January 2016.
Michel Daher, Chairman, said: “We will increase our production by 500 percent.” Master Chips processes over 24,000 tons of potatoes yearly. The new factory would increase production capacity to 150,000 tons.
The company invested $30 million in the facility, which stretches over an area of 22,000 square meters. The factory will create about 800 jobs.
Around 60 percent of the company’s total production is exported to Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, and Jordan. “We will try our best to increase the market share in the export markets,” he said.
