Olafco, a recently established diaper manufacturer located in Zakroun, Koura, will begin production in March.

Its production capacity is 80 million diapers per year, per one, eight-hour shift. The company has not yet branded its product.

The leased 3,000 m2 factory is built on a 14,000 square meter plot. Investment in equipment is $8 million and the cost of leasing the land is around $150,000 per year.

Olafco is the second local diaper producer after Sanita by Indevco Group, which produces about 40 million baby diapers per year. Two other companies import diapers and pack them locally, according to Maher Melhem, one of Olafco’s shareholders. He said that production will comply with European standards.

A small part of Olafco’s production will be distributed locally and the rest will be exported to Arab and African countries.

The company is owned by Farid Maalouf, Khairo Mohamed Machnouk, and Maher Melhem.
