opened in Mazraat Yachouh

2,000 tons of corrugated

packaging for local market

Megapack, a manufacturer of corrugated packaging, opened earlier this month in the industrial zone of Mazraat Yachouh.

Investment in the project is valued at three million dollars and includes a subsidized loan by the Central Bank.

The facility has a total built-up area of 5,500 square meters, including four floors. Production capacity of the factory will reach 2,000 tons of corrugated packaging per year.

Johnny Raad, managing partner, said that the first stage of production will produce half of the capacity. The entire production will be distributed in the local market.

Raad said that the company does not plan to export its products due to the process being costly, since carton has large volume and small value.

The contractors of the project are Chaddad Group, and the consultants are JWH Architects.

The new production rates will help increase full time employment opportunities at the factory.
