The Council of Ministers approved $25 million in credits to develop and treat sewage on both sides of the Arab Highway.

Public works include the development of networks and connections. They will be overseen by the Council for Development and Reconstruction.

The project is part of recently approved plan of water pollution abatement in the Litani River.

Part of the Arab Highway work is currently being executed by a joint venture between local firms CET-Hourie. It includes the development of 20 kilometers of the highway at the Bekaa level, six viaducts, nine overpasses, seven underpasses, and five interchanges.
