Share
Philippe Tabet, owner of Dar Alma boutique hotel on Tyre seafront, plans to open another boutique hotel in the southern city’s old souks in April, 2017. Development will cost $1.5 million.
“The success witnessed at Dar Alma pushed me to expand, especially since there is high demand for high-end guesthouses and boutique hotels,” said Tabet.
He said that Dar Alma has activated tourism in the city as the concept is becoming very trendy.
For the new project, Tabet is renovating two adjacent old houses, one of which was built 400 years ago, with a total built-up area of 800 square meters.
“I did not choose the name of the hotel yet,” he said.
The hotel will have nine rooms, including suites, double, and small rooms. Room rates are set at $180-$300 per night.
Tabet’s next step will be to open a project in Batroun that comprises of 40 rooms. He is also a developer, managing HAR Properties.
