Under the agreement, the Ministry of Finance through the Institute of Bassil Fuleihan and the Center for Training and Documentation will team-up with the Ministry of Education, and the Faculty of Economics at Saint Joseph University, to develop the human resources of the public education sector, particularly in the fields of economics, and finance.
The four institutions will organize workshops to 210 teachers of economics, geography, civic education, and sociology from all regions to train those on business matters and improve their financial background.
The Minister of Finance, Raya El Hassan, said that the agreement aims to prepare a generation that is familiar with economic matters from A to Z, and “to help the youth judge and evaluate away from political thinking.”
The head of the Bassil Fuleihan Institute, Lamia El-Moubayed Bissat, said that this initiative combines the expertise of all parties involved, “to build a comprehensive program that will target in its first phase public school teachers of economics."
The Minister of Education, Hassan Mneimneh, said that the agreement is integral for development as it invests in development of the individual, and lies within the framework of strengthening the partnership between the state and the youth.
