Representatives from 150 travel and tourism companies visiting the country next month will be introduced to local hospitality players. The visitors will participate in a forum that will be held on May 24, at Le Royal, Dbayeh, where 50 local travel and tourism companies will introduce their services, and have face-to-face business meetings.
Wadih Kanaan, General Secretary of the Syndicate of Hotel Owners, said: “More than 800 international companies submitted applications to participate in the forum.” He said that companies are showing interest in participating in this forum, and that this number is expected to increase in the coming days.
A committee formed by the Ministry of Tourism, including representatives from the private sector, the Syndicate of Hotel Owners, and Casino du Liban will choose the international companies that will participate in the forum.
Kanaan said that the companies will be from different regions especially Europe. “We want to introduce the country to those who do not know enough about us,” he said.
Following the forum, the international companies will attend a guided tour to the most popular touristic destinations. Kanaan said that this step will help international companies know more about local tourism and promote the country on an international level. Hospitality companies from the private sector will support the forum and the tour. Several hotels and restaurants provided the accommodation and meals. Nakhal Travel, Saad Transport, and Azzi Holiday Travel will provide the tours and transportation.
Kanaan said: “This campaign will increase tourist numbers during the coming summer.”
