The Renault Twizy, the first electric car in the local market, will be launched by Bassoul Heneine.
Mia Bassoul, Managing Partner of Bassoul Heneine, said: “We want to be pioneers in the electric car market. We feel that the Twizy will be a good introduction for the Renault Zero Emission vehicles.”
Renault Twizy is available at $19,300 including VAT as of July 12. Prices are subject to change.
The 2018 front-wheel drive Twizy is available in two models. With a 17 horsepower engine, it reaches a top speed of 80 kilometers per hour, going from zero to 50 Km/hr in 6.6 seconds.
Twizy has Bluetooth connectivity and a driver airbag. A panoramic sunroof is optional.
The two-seater (depending on the model) car can be charged via a cable that plugs into any domestic (230V) socket, like an appliance. It takes just three hours to recharge the recyclable lithium-ion battery.
According to Bassou, bank car loan facilities are applicable on this vehicle.
Bassoul Heneine is the local exclusive dealer for Renault, Dacia, BMW, MINI, Rolls Royce, and BMW Motorrad.
