On a monthly basis, inflation rose up slightly to 0.6 percent compared to March, mainly due to rising costs of transportation and clothing and footwear, the index released by the Central Administration of Statistics showed.
Transportation costs rose 2.2 percent in one month, and 15 percent from last year in the same period, the figures showed.
Fuel prices, which include prices of water electricity and gas, were up 13.9 percent on yearly basis, and 1.3 percent up in one month.
Clothing prices dropped 4.5 percent from April 2009, but rose on monthly basis by 2.4 percent from March.
