Construction of ‘Hub56 Beirut’ industrial park in Mkalles Industrial Zone has begun. The project will be completed in 2020.
Project owner Elie Gharios has invested $20 million in the 35,000 square meters (m2) industrial zone.
Hayek Contracting and Engineering is the project’s contractor, C&A Engineers are the architects, and Temacode are the electro-mechanical engineers.
Hub56 Beirut will comprise three buildings with warehouses, offices, workshops, and unloading areas for all sizes of trucks. It will also offer open, multi-functional indoor and outdoor spaces for events. The zone will accommodate all industrial categories, including heavy and light industries.
“The industrial spaces will be offered for rent and sale,” said Michael Gharios, Managing Partner. The rental price per square meter ranges from $65 to $130 per year.
The industrial zone will be equipped with necessary infrastructure such as private generators, private water supply, waste water treatment, and solar power panels. The project is Apave approved. “Manufacturers are only required to install their machines to start production,” Gharios said.
Apave is a consultancy firm providing technical control of construction sites.
Hub56 Beirut has signed agreements with several tenants including Line X for protective coating, Liban Fibre for textiles, Mix and Match for uniforms, Styro 3D for styrofoam, Proal for wood, and Butlers Bottle, and others.
The industrial zone, along with the factories that will open in it, will create up to 1,000 jobs.
Elie Gharios is also a shareholder in LibanJus, the manufacturer of several brands including Maccaw, Danway Iceberg, and UNO.
