Today’s meeting was chaired by the Speaker of the Parliament, Nabih Berri and was attended by the Minister of Finance, Raya El Hassan, the Minister of Energy and Water Gebran Bassil, and the Minister of Environment, Mohamad Rahal, in addition to Members of Parliament.

Officials have vowed on the government and the Parliament to speed up work on the draft and its ratification to start exploration works for the potential offshore oil reserves. The Energy draft law was proposed by MP, Ali Hassan Khalil last week.
