The outgoing Finance Minister, Raya Hassan, introduced at a press conference today Lebanon’s first “Citizen’s Budget:” A simplified summery of the 2010 national budget aimed at laymen. “With this new publication, the Ministry of Finance hopes to provide citizens with a tool that would allow them to engage in a more enlightened and constructive dialogue around issues concerning the national budget,” said Hassan. She said that the document was prepared in collaboration with Lebanese Transparency Association, (LTA), as part of ongoing efforts to promote transparency and accountability.
