July 25, 2011- Director General of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Mohammad Karaki, said the NSSF suffers fiscal inequity along with a painstaking deficit in human resources. “The fund is currently operating with around 50 percent of its manpower capacity,” Karaki said during a ceremony organized by the staff of the Social Security Fund in Saida.

Despite the hardships it has encountered, Karaki said, the NSSF has managed to “sustain its role in providing social security for more than one third of the citizens.”

According to Karaki, the NSSF has computerized its operations and established electronic links with affiliate institutions, including the Ministry of Health and other insurance institutions across the country.
