Majid Al Futtaim’s $350 million Beirut City Centre will open on April 4. The new mall includes over 200 stores which extend over 60,000 square meters of retail space. Waddah Al Solh, Country Head of Majid Al Futtaim Properties in the Levant region, said the opening was never delayed. “We officially announced the opening date in March when we committed to the target date of April 4, and we have kept our promise.”

Al Solh said a study by Majid Al Futtaim Properties concluded that Beirut is actually under-serviced in terms of shopping malls compared to international benchmarks, and that there is a large potential for additional retail in the market. “We believe Beirut City Centre will complement the existing retail offering in Beirut, while offering a unique mix of retailers including dozens of brands entering the market for the first time.”

Beirut City Centre promises high-end brands like Juicy Couture, Tommy Hilfiger, and brands by Aïzone. A food court and restaurant area with a large mix of dining options, together with leisure and entertainment facilities, will cater to visitors.

The mall also includes the country's first Carrefour hypermarket, the first Magic Planet family entertainment center, and the first Marks & Spencer store.

The first multi-screen VOX Cinemas will be operational starting within the first week of operation. The new chain features 15 screens equipped with digital and 3D projection systems, and Dolby Atmos sound systems. It also includes a 20-meter screen (Vox Max), a VIP lounge (Vox Gold) and a gourmet Vox Café & Candybar.

Beirut City Centre also hosts over 40 international restaurants and cafés, including a food court with 16 diners and an open-air rooftop terrace. Some of the new restaurants include the international eateries ‘Cheesecake Factory’, ‘Shake Shack’, and ‘Fat Burger’.

“Majid Al Futtaim is a long-term investor and we are committed to investing in Lebanon’s long-term future. Beirut City Centre comes with an offering to serve families of all age groups. We are confident that it will be a popular shopping and entertainment destination amongst the residents of Beirut and the wider country.”

The local market will be expecting another Majid Al Futtaim City Center in Dbayeh’s Waterfront City in the coming years.
