Tax-twinning initiative fulfilled

70 French experts trained 220 employees on tax compliance skills

The Ministry of Finance concluded on Thursday a twinning project between the Lebanese and French governments to improve tax compliance and risk management.

The project, which was launched in November 2010, was funded through a 1.1 million initiative by the European Union. Throughout the one-year initiative, 70 French experts performed training workshops for more than 220 government employees.

It aims to increase the revenues of the government through applying French tax authorities’ standards in the collection of taxes.
