The number of passengers travelling via the Rafic Hariri Beirut International Airport (RHBIA) contracted by 71 percent in 2020 as compared to 2019. Just 2.5 million people used the airport, almost evenly split between departures and arrivals.

The number of flights was 61 percent lower at 27,026 during that period. The share of Middle East Airlines (MEA) (nearly 10,000 flights) was 36.5 percent, almost unchanged.
