The European Union is donating €8 million for supporting reforms in the trade and taxes systems.
The EU and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers signed a financing agreement, which was ratified by Parliament on September 6. The total cost of the program is estimated at €8.4 million.
The program aims at supporting the government in implementing the reforms stated in the Paris III conference (2007). The reforms would be implemented through a work plan between the government and the EU within the European Neighborhood Policy.
The program is expected to boost the country’s competitiveness through enhancing its trade performance. The program would also improve the tax collection procedures through establishing a modern and efficient tax management.
