CMA CGM opens new headquarter
PM vows to draft trade law to facilitate managing businesses from within the country

The CMA CGM shipping group has announced the opening of its new headquarter building in Beirut. The new building joins all subsidiaries of the CMA CGM group in the country and includes 200 employees.
During the opening ceremony on Monday (October 3), Prime Minister Najib Mikati confirmed the government’s commitment to provide a comfortable climate for businesses and investments. He also said that the cabinet would draft a new law for trade that would facilitate business management from within the country.
CMA CGM group has reported $7.3 billion in revenue during the first six months of the year, an increase of 8 percent relative to the corresponding period of 2010.
The group, which was founded in 1978 by Jacques Saadé, is headquartered in Marseille (France). It operates from offices in 150 countries.
