The Parliament adopted a law regulating the work of firms that offer Valet Parking services. Companies offering such services have been operating without clear-cut regulations.

Any company wishing to offer Valets Parking services now must file for a license to the governor, who should reply within one month from the date of request. The law states that each company offering Valet Parking services should be owned by Lebanese nationals. All employees working in the business must also be Lebanese.

According to the law, the company, and the employee are fully responsible for any damage that might affect cars, clients, or other individuals, during offering the service. The law stipulates that each company must keep a bank deposit of at least LL10 million in the account of the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities.

All employees working in the firm must wear a uniform labeled ‘Valet Parking’ so that clients would be able to recognize them. The law prohibits Valet Parking staff from using main roads or sidewalks to park cars.

The law gave the Valet Parking firms two months, from the issuance date (September 21), to obtain a working license.
