Anti-Poverty Initiative
New plan to provide government with data on vulnerable families
Share
The President of the Republic, Michel Suleiman, and the Minister of Social Affairs, Wael Abou Faour, launched on Monday (October 17) the ‘National Poverty Targeting System for Social Safety Nets Programs’ (NPTP).
The initiative is co-funded by the Lebanese Government, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Italian Cooperation, the World Bank, and the Canadian Embassy.
The program was created in response to the priorities set out in the social action plan presented by the Government at the Paris III Conference.
The project aims at providing the Government with information on vulnerable families identified and consolidated in a database, which will be periodically updated.
