The Ministry of Social Affairs has recently signed an agreement with the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND) for the early childhood development.

Lebanon is the 12th Arab country to join the group of the Arab Gulf program. The objective of the program is to find a strategy for developing the early childhood all over the Arab world.

The project aims towards setting a national strategy for developing the early childhood, as well as establishing a center for training the early childhood service providers. It also aims to set guidelines for the activities of training children between the age of six months and three years.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD). The MoU is intended to fund the Fourth Arab Civil Society Forum for Childhood, which will be held in Beirut in April 2012.

ACCD works to support governmental and non-governmental efforts for the protection and development of Arab children, according to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
