Price monitoring committee

Ministry of Economy and Trade forms committee to observe, regulate prices

The Minister of Economy and Trade, Nicolas Nahas, announced, on November 12, the formation of a committee tasked with monitoring and regulating the prices of basic commodities. The committee was formed through a Cabinet decision.
The committee is chaired by the General Director of Ministry of Economy and Trade, Fouad Fleifel. It comprises the following members:

-Ali Berro, Director of the Technical Center at the Ministry of Economy
-Arslan Sinno, and Ahmed Hoteit of the Syndicate of Agro-Food Traders
-Adel Abi Shaker and Hani Bohsali of the Syndicate of Foodstuff Importers
-Mohamad Mabsout and Samih Masri of the Syndicate of the Importers of Frozen Meat and Poultry
-Mounir Bissat and Raja Cortas of the Association of Food Industries
-Ali Hajj Hassan, Samir Qortbawi, and Simon Boutros of poultry raisers’ unions
-Maarouf Bekdache of the Union of Butchers and Livestock Traders
-Nabil Fahed and Shawki Bou Khalil of the Syndicate of Supermarket Owners
