Macro-economy at MoF
New division established for broad financial analysis
Share
A division for macro-economic analysis was established at the Ministry of Finance (MoF) through a decree issued on March 14.
The new department will develop a macro-economic vision for the annual public accounts’ balance. It will issue economic indicators in cooperation with the relevant economic administrations and authorities.
The department will be tasked with setting a medium- and long-term framework for public revenue and expenditures in cooperation with the concerned bodies at the MoF.
It will conduct analysis of the expected results of the budget plan on the macro-economic aspects, such as GDP and inflation rates. The unit will also undertake studies on the effect of the economic policies and the suggested taxes, and propose alternative fiscal actions when needed.
