The Association of Lebanese Industrialists (ALI) launched on Tuesday (April 3) a number of new services for its members. As part of this venture, the ALI signed agreements with BLOM Bank, the World Trade Center, Beirut, and the Lebanese American University (LAU).
ALI board member and head of the Industrial Indicators and Services Committee, Chaker Saab, said that the association will offer financial services to its members in cooperation with BLOM Bank. The services include facilitated access to credit and a reduction on loan filing fees.
“ALI members applying for business loans from BLOM will get preliminary approval within just 24 hours, while those applying for a loan through Kafalat will get the approval within two days,” Saab said. BLOM Bank will also develop two co-branded (BLOM-ALI) platinum cards for industrialists.
The ALI has also partnered with the World Trade Center to provide business-to-business opportunities for its members. “This is a two-way process; it will introduce local industrialists to potential markets abroad and introduce foreign investors to the opportunities here,” said Saab.
The ALI will also cooperate with the LAU for organizing monthly training sessions and workshops for industrialists.
The Central Administration of Statistics (CAS) will be publishing a quarterly index providing economic and market indicators.
The ALI will also support its members on issues related to environment conservation and energy efficiency through its environment and energy department, established in 2009. The department will offer technical assistance to industrialists to help them pursue sustainable development production processes.
