Charafeddine Industrial Laboratories (CIL), a Lebanon-based manufacturer of cosmetics and beauty soaps, is planning to open a new production facility in Aley.

The new factory will be operational by end 2013. The factory will have a total area of 9,000 square meters, with 26 employees.

“The soap industry requires large industrial facilities and a continuous expansion of production lines,” said Amer Charafeddine, export manager at CIL. “Through the new factory, we will increase our production capacity by around 50 percent,” he said.

The new building will also include the company’s own ISO-certified laboratories, Charafeddine said: “These new facilities will enable us to do our research in-house. We always have plans to expand our product line.”

Investment in the new facilities was over one million dollars.

CIL’s products are geared for the export market. “We export more than 90 percent of our products to countries in the Gulf, and Africa,” he said.

CIL was established in 1938.The company’s two soap brands: 'Rose' and 'Silvana', are registered trademarks in 75 countries.
