Cabinet approves $6.8 billion draft law

Urgent extra-budgetary spending bill forwarded to Parliament

A draft law allowing the Cabinet to get $6.8 billion in Treasury loans until the 2012 draft budget is adopted was approved during the Cabinet session in Baabda this afternoon.
The urgent draft law was referred to the Parliament.

The bill authorizes extra-budgetary spending worth LL10.3 trillion ($6.8 billion) to cover the government’s expenditures for the year 2012 until a state budgets is approved.
