Parliament approves law allowing issuance of new debt notes

The Parliament adopted 17 new draft laws today (July 2). These included a draft law that authorizes the Cabinet to issue Treasury bills and Eurobonds to secure funds needed to pay contractors. The Parliament also approved a project to draw water from the Awali River to Beirut.
The Parliament still has 15 items on its agenda, including a draft law for hiring contract-workers at the EDL.
