EDL directors: we will not show up to work on Wednesday

The directors of Electricité du Liban (EDL) said they will not show up at work on Wednesday (July 25). The move is to show support to their colleague, EDL’s Financial Director, who was reportedly threatened by protesting contract workers.

Contract workers, who have been on strike for nearly three months, continued their protest occupying the ground floor of EDL’s headquarters in Corniche El Nahr. They also closed off the doors to the building.
