Damour Medical Center, a new private healthcare development, will be officially launched on December 1st. Located across the main road in Damour, the center has a total area of 1,200 square meters.

Dr. Christina Kazzi, chief executive director at the center, said: “There is a big shortage in hospitals and medical centers in this region, especially in urgent care.”

The three-story building will house six clinics for different medical specializations, an emergency-care room for basic life support and first aid, and an all-inclusive laboratory. It will offer different kinds of scans, such as Xray, mammography, scanner, and ultra sound.

The center will have at least seven doctors, and will generate more than 20 jobs.

The center plans to sign up with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), and is working on contracts with cooperative of public sector employees. “We will be studying the prospects of making two tariffs, one for regular people and another one for those who need financial aid,” Kazzi said.
