The rehabilitation of the road linking Batroun to Bejdarfil will commence in spring 2013. The cost of the project is estimated at $18 million. It will be funded by the government through a budget allocation.
The road to be rehabilitated stretches over 9.6 kilometers and has a width of around 11 meters, the Council of Development and Reconstruction (CDR) said. It is linked to the newly-executed track beginning from Bejdarfil and reaching Jebla.
The project includes installing safety requirements, a rainwater system, new support walls, and the necessary works for electricity and lighting poles.
This road is part of the 26-kilometer Batroun-Tannourine highway. CDR is currently in the process of selecting contractors for the project.
