Local beer brand, 961 Beer, has extended its geographic outreach to the United States. 961 Beer, produced by the Gravity Brewing Company, will be sold throughout ten states, including New York and Washington D.C.
Gravity Brewing will export up to 100,000 24-bottle packs a year to the U.S. , according to Elias Kenaan, its managing partner. “The U.S. is one of the biggest beer markets, and we believe 961 Beer will be popular there,” he said.
Gravity Brewing already exports its products to Europe. “We export some 40,000 packs a year to several European countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, and Denmark,” Kenaan said. 961 Beer's diverse line of products includes Lager, Red Ale, Witbier, and Lebanese Pale Ale.
Founded in 2006, Gravity Brewing operates through its 1,000-square-meter factory in Mazraat Yachouh. It currently produces 250,000 packs, or six million bottles, a year. Kenaan said the company plans to expand its production facility and double output to meet growing demand. The company had a turnover of $2.5 million in 2012.
Gravity Brewing is owned by Mazen Hajjar, founder and CEO, along with 14 other shareholders.
