Mirada Madrid, a design management consultancy working between Madrid and Beirut, will be hosting the Beirut Service Jam event in partnership with the Beirut Creative Cluster.

The event will be hosted in the Berytech building of the Beirut Digital District (BDD), on March 1-3.

Created by Joumana Mattar and Riccardo Musolesi, ‘Mirada Madrid’ aims to engage people to undertake design-led solutions within their companies.

The Beirut Creative Cluster (BCC) is the business association arm of Berytech. It comprises local firms that create digital content, media products, design, and marketing solutions. The BCC’s Chairman is Hani Asfour of design studio Polypod, and its Deputy Cairman is Fadi Sabbagha of advertising firm Born Interactive.

The event will be promoting the service-design concept which is a very useful concept for entrepreneurs and start-ups, according to Mattar. Registration cost is $15 per person.

Mattar said that improving service-design skills will help participants differentiate the quality of the service provided when using the same product offered by two competitors. “It is about the service that makes the difference of the experience. For instance, telling the difference between a McDonald’s and a Burger King’s burger.”

More than 68 cities worldwide will take part in the Global Service Jam.
