Basil Fuleihan Institute launches procurement training
Share
The Institut des Finances Basil Fuleihan (IoF) launched a program to help enhance public procurement. The program, held in collaboration with the Italian Embassy, will run throughout 2013.
The IoF has been working with the Ministry of Finance (MoF) on capacity development for public procurement. “Government purchasing is a main work priority that limits public spending,” said a statement by the MoF. A study by the IoF showed that public procurement represents four percent of GDP and 13 percent of the fiscal budget.
The Italian government will offer scholarships to four public procurement officers to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
