The Turkish power ship ‘Fatmagûl Sultan’ has arrived off the coast of the Zouk power plant. It had docked at the Port of Beirut for several days until technical preparations in Zouk were completed.
The ship will start producing 180 MW of power by end-March. The ship includes 11 power generators and four high-capacity transformers.
Through the contract with the Turkish firm Karadeniz, another power ship is expected to dock at the waterfront side of the Jieh plant next June. Together, the two barges should produce some 270 MW. The contract’s period is for three years.
