Local café Keif has opened its first franchised outlet in Cairo. Zaher Chaar, Accounting Manager at Keif, said the café is pursuing a firm expansion plan throughout the region which it will implement gradually.

Keif has four local outlets in Ashrafieh, Antelias, Sin el Fil, and Byblos. Lately, the café has won the tender to operate the food and beverages outlets of the Lebanese University compound in Hadath. “The university includes two restaurants and four cafés that will be fully operational under Keif starting the academic year 2013-2014,” Chaar said. He said Keif will invest around $345,000 to renovate and refurbish the restaurants and cafés of the university.

Keif is owned by businessman Abdallah El Hellani, the nephew of renowned singer Assi El Hellani.
