Prequalified bids for oil and gas declared
14 multinational consortiums
representing 52 companies

The Ministry of Energy and Water announced the results of the prequalification round for the oil and gas drilling bids. More than 200 companies had applied and 52 companies were prequalified.
The final qualified companies will be announced on April 18.
CCEnergy, a company associated to CCC contractors, and Geopak Petroleb (registered as a U.S. company) are the only two local companies who prequalified for oil and gas drilling.
14 companies are operators while the rest are non operating members in multinational consortiums. European operators were the most prominent, with major participation by U.A.E., U.K., and U.S. oil companies (see table).
