New car sales flat in first quarter

New car sales stood flat in the first quarter of 2013 as compared to the same period last year, according to the Automotive Registration Report issued by the Association of Car Importers.
As of end-March, around 7,928 new passenger and commercial vehicles were sold. Passenger car sales inched up by 1.2 percent to 7,484 units while sales of commercial cars fell by 23 percent y-o-y to around 444 units.
