The Ministry of Telecommunications (MoT) said that the new 3G Internet subscription fees will be slashed by up to 40 percent. The new pricing will be effective as of May first.

The first package of $10 for 100 MB will be subject to a 33 percent price decrease. Users will now enjoy 150 MB for the same price.

The second package, $19 for 500 MB, will be subject to a 34 percent price discount, giving users 750 MB for the same price.

The 1 GB for $32 package was increased to 1.5 GB for $29, representing a 40 percent reduction in cost.

The price of the 3 GB package price was reduced from $79 to $49, and the 5 GB package was reduced from $99 to $69.

These packages come in line with the MoT’s strategy to cut mobile Internet prices, preparing for the introduction of the 4G network.
