Medrar Foundation, a charity organization chaired by Abdallah Berri, has earned a license to establish a medical compound in Choukine, Nabatieh. Construction works have already kicked off and the hospital will be ready to operate as of early 2016.

The Choukine Medical Compound will have a built-up area of 12,000 square meters. It will comprise 190 beds divided over five departments: Emergency care, outpatient clinics, radiology center, rehabilitation center, and elderly home. The cost of investment in the hospital is around $15 million. The project will create around 300 job opportunities.

The Choukine compound will be one of a few centers that include a home for the elderly and offer addiction treatment in the South. The center is five minutes away from the Nabatieh Government Hospital.
