Grand Hills gets new management

Will operate under Starwood starting 2015

World-renowned hospitality group Starwood will take over the management of Grand Hills Hotel & Spa, Broumana as of early 2015. The resort will join Starwood’s ‘Luxury Collection’, which offers upper scale hospitality services.

Grand Hills is owned and currently managed by Mouawad Village Broumana, chaired by Robert Mouawad, the owner of Mouawad Jewlery. Sources at the hotel said it had recently suffered from low occupancy rates, and false rumors of its permanent closure were circulated. “The transition will run smoothly until the full integration with the Starwood chain in 2015,” the sources said. Renovation will be performed in all sections, one at a time, without closing any sections.

By the end of the renovation, Grand Hills will be featuring 115 rooms and 53 suites, as well as three restaurants and two bars. Leisure facilities will include three indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, a fitness club, and a retail area. Grand Hills Hotel & Spa will also offer events and conference facilities including two ballrooms, an amphitheatre, and six meeting rooms.

Starwood’s global portfolio includes major hotel management brands like St. Regis, Four Points, Sheraton, and Le Meridien. It currently operates two hotels in the local market: Four Points by Sheraton Le Verdun in Beirut and Four Points by Sheraton Bhamdoun. The deal with Grand Hills marks its debut in the local luxury hotel market.
