Le Bristol gets $20 million renovation

Hotel will close down for one year

Hotel Le Bristol will be closed down temporarily as of this June, said Nazira El Atrache, General Manager of the hotel. The boutique hotel will undergo a complete renovation. “The hotel is more than 60 years old and requires serious restoration for all its rooms, suites, and infrastructure, in order to keep on offering its guests the same caliber of services,” El Atrache said.

Le Bristol will resume its operations as of March 2014, once the restitution process is complete. Throughout the renovation period, only the food and beverage section, Les Gourmandises, will continue to welcome clients.

Le Bristol has 151 rooms, of which 117 standard and executive rooms, and 34 suites.

The hotel’s renovation will cost around $20 million. “This is the perfect timing to launch such a project, especially since the country is suffering from low tourism rates,” El Atrache said.

After the renovation is complete, Le Bristol will apply for a new rating by Bureau Veritas.

Le Bristol is owned by Doumit family members, who are also active in industry.
