Rock Marble Granite, quarry operators and manufacturers of natural stone products, acquired a new factory in Batroun from the Balboul & Abou-Khalil Company.

Rodrigue Rahi, General Manager at Rock Marble Granite, said the new factory will be used as either a storage facility or a factory: “Our decision will depend on the security situation, If it improves, we will start manufacturing.”

The factory in Batroun stretches over 8,000 square meters. The price of land and used equipment totaled $5 million. “The factory needs a minimum of $1 million dollars for renovation and rehabilitation to start producing,” Rahi said. In its current state, the factory can produce about 50,000 square meters of tiles annually.

The official opening of the factory will be in beginning-2014. The new factory will create minimum ten job opportunities.

Rock Marble Granite produces about 130,000 square meters of marble, granite, and rock tiles in its initial factory in Hosrayel. About 20 percent of the production is exported to Gulf and Arab countries, as well as Africa.
